Deer are beautiful but can damage your garden

Here are some tips to help prevent damage to your garden

 

White Tail DeerThis is a great question, and there are definitely plants that are deer resistant and their use would mitigate damage to a garden.

We have properties that we maintain where deer damage is an issue. We have properties where they could be an issue, but for some reason or other, they are not. and we have properties that have been specifically designed to discourage deer by using a specific plant pallet.

There are other ways to deter deer. We work on two properties with  a lot of roses. Roses are a favorite of  deer. One property uses a habanero pepper plant spray to deter the deer. The other property uses motion sensor rotors. When a deer approached the garden creates a loud sound and, like a scarecrow, frighten away any approaching animals.

Of course we like to take natural approach to deterring deer from munching in our garden. Here is a plant list of deer resistant plants:
