Bruce Dreher

Founder

Bruce arrived in Aspen in the early 80's. Initially, he worked as a CPA. Bruce has been the backbone of the business side of this very creative process. His oversight of projects from a financial perspective, and his thorough understanding of the landscape business allow him to focus on the delivery of value.

Phil Hedrick

Founder

Phil is an Aspen High School graduate and has a degree in Business Administration. Having spent his life in the Colorado Rockies he has dedicated much of his life to developing his skills as an alpine gardener. Phil attended Kyoto University of Art and Design in Japan, where he studied the History of Japanese Garden Art. Phil's goal is to share happiness with everyone.

Jennifer Dolecki-Smith

Registered Landscape Architect, CLARB Certified, ASLA · Owner

Jennifer is an award-winning landscape architect and a graduate of Cornell University. She loves to share her passion for the outdoors. Jennifer's belief of living a balanced life, including our interactions with the natural world are shown through her designs, helping create that balance for others. After working with Escape for the past 21+ years, Jennifer is now the Owner and Landscape Architect.

Kevin Tucker

Construction Manager

Kevin moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in 1981. As our Construction Manager since 2004, Kevin is invaluable to the design process with his construction and maintenance experience. Kevin assists throughout the design process in estimating, budgeting and build-ability. In the construction phase, Kevin oversees our construction crew, and coordinates day to day site activities.

Jorge Flores

Construction Foreman and Landscape Artist

Jorge has been with Escape since its inception in 1998. As our construction foreman Jorge is a key asset with his construction experience. His creative mind and creative ability to set boulders is like no other. Jorge's artistic eye coupled with his years of learning alongside Owner Phil Hedrick makes Jorge a valuable part of the Escape Team.

Fabian Gonzolez

Construction Team Member, Former Maintenance Manager

Fabian has been with Escape since 2021. After leading our maintenance division for four years, he now serves as a Construction Team Member, bringing valuable knowledge of landscape care and installation to every project. His experience in both construction and maintenance helps ensure each landscape is built to thrive for years to come. Fabian also continues to support and mentor our maintenance team, making him a valuable part of the Escape Team.

Jasper Nickel

Maintenance Manager

Jasper joined Escape in 2026 as our Maintenance Manager, and this is his first year with the team. He oversees maintenance day to day and makes sure that each property receives the personal touch that it deserves long after installation. A garden is a living thing, and Jasper sees to it that every landscape we build keeps developing to its full potential, season after season.

Kerri Brooks

Office Manager

Kerri moved to the Aspen area in 1990 to be closer to nature and all the adventures the area offers. She has worked a variety of administrative and sales positions in architecture, lighting design and interior design. She enjoys managing operations, customer service, accounting and assisting in keeping the business running smoothly and efficiently.
